PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diversity control circuit and a diversity control method for mobile communication where an antenna can be fixed at a mobile speed of a mobile communication unit by measuring a reception level for a designated number of times so as to obtain the mean value thereby acquiring a reception level of a radio wave more accurately. SOLUTION: Two antennas 2, 3 transmit/receive data and an antenna control section 4 selects an antenna that better conducts the transmission reception. A reception level storage section 6 stores respective reception levels acquired by the two antennas 2, 3 and a mean value of the reception levels for a prescribed number of times decided in advance. A device control section 5 compares the respective reception levels so as to discriminate whether or not an antenna is to be fixed or whether or not diversity control is to be employed thereby controlling the transmission reception. As a result, useless antenna switching can be avoided, the current consumption is reduced to attain a long time operation for the device and effect of an interference wave or a disturbing wave or the like can be suppressed.
