PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor enhanced in durability without impairing high sensitivity and degrading other photographic characteristics by incorporating a specified thiazole derivative in a photosensitive layer or a protective layer with respect to an electrophotographic photoreceptor having the photosensitive layer on the support. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is provided on the support with a photosensitive layer or a protective layer containing the thiazole derivative represented by the formula in which each of R1-R3 is an H or halogen atom or a hydroxyl or organic group and at least one of R1-R3 is an alkyl, aryl, amino, carbonyl, diazo, silyl, sulfide, aromatic, or hetero-cyclic group or halogen atom, such as F, Cl, Br, or the like, and as an organic group an amino, carboxyl, aldehyde, aromatic, and heterocyclic groups, and the like are exemplified.
