A heavy duty radial ply tyre with≥2 crown working reinforcing layers (31,32) of non-extensible metal cable and two limiter blocks (40) in two distinct zones each side of the equatorial centre (XX') of the tyre has these blocks joined by an additional reinforcement (41) composed of≥1 layer (41) of textile or metal cables, oriented circumferentially, centred on the equatorial centre (XX') with rigidity of extension per unit length measured in the direction of the cables, in the working range of the tyre, of≥0.5 times, that of the most extensible limiting block (40). |
