When a user terminal makes an HTTP request (1000) it is received by first level distributed cache memories and if the object is present a response (1001) is returned to the user. If not present the request goes (1002) to a second level co-operating cache memory and where necessary to it's neighbours (1004), with return to user (1003) if available. Finally the request is sent to the original server (1006) for a response (1007)
