The invention relates to a protective hood (10) for wood milling machines which serves to cover a milling spindle (16) protruding vertically upwards from a horizontal machine stand (12). The protective hood (10) consists of two lateral walls (20), which are connected to each other by a top (26) and a rear wall (22), and a front-side, height-adjustable protective shield (130). The protective hood (10) also comprises a coupling sleeve (126) for a suction device and can be adjustably mounted on the machine stand (12). A retaining element (52) for the removable attachment of a butt plate (54) is movably fixed to both lateral walls (20) of the protective hood (10). In this way the protective hood (10) is at all times available as a base element and when a user changes from curve milling to a milling operation using the butt plate the butt plates (54) can easily be installed. |
