The system uses a recess (1) located adjacent to the end the firearm barrel (4) and designed to receive a percussion cap (2) with an inner striker plate and linked to the barrel by a channel (3). The recess can be made in a separate component fitted to the end of the barrel by a screw thread and positioned either in line with the barrel or at an oblique angle to it.
