The invention relates to a device for stabilizing a vehicle. To this end, the device comprises first detection means with which at least two vehicle movement values are detected that describe the vehicle movement, especially in a transversal direction of the vehicle. The device also comprises second detection means with which a characteristic value is detected for each of the vehicle movement values. For this, the second detection means contain adaptation means with which the temporal progressions of the characteristic values can be adapted to the vehicle behavior. The inventive device also comprises controlling means, with which intervention values are detected at least according to the vehicle movement values and to the characteristic values. Said intervention values are transmitted to actuating means in order to execute at least one braking intervention and/or motor intervention with which the vehicle is stabilized.
