PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical disk apparatus in which a sector address can be determined solely irrespective of a groove part/an inter-groove part to an optical disk of a predetermined format with one spiral formed by alternately connecting tracks of the groove part and inter-groove part. SOLUTION: The optical disk apparatus is constituted to record/reproduce an optical disk 100 in which a first address information part showing sector addresses of groove parts and a second address information part showing sector addresses of inter-groove parts mutually shifted in opposite directions are applied to a header part. The apparatus has a system control part 2 for outputting a control signal indicating a polarity corresponding to the groove part or inter- groove part, and an address extract part 1 for recognizing either of the first address information part and the second address information part as the sector address of a subject sector on the basis of the control signal.
