PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reader-writer for a non-contact IC card capable of coping with low power consumption during standby and being effectively utilized even in a system with a limited power supply capacity. SOLUTION: A proximity sensor 13 for detecting an object is attached to this reader-writer 1. Transmission data by a command from a control part 2 are not transmitted through an I/O conversion part 3, an oscillation part 4, a modulation part 5, a power amplification part 6 and a transmission/ reception coil 7 when the object such as the non-contact IC card 20 is not detected in the proximity sensor part 13 and they are transmitted and received from the reader-writer 1 only when detecting the object such as the non-contact IC card 20 in the proximity sensor part 13. |
