The cleaning appliance (1) has a housing (2) containing a basket for the slats being cleaned. Rotary arms with spray nozzles are positioned over and or under the basket. The lower part of the housing is divided into a watertight trough holding the basket, and a part holding the inflow and discharge pipes for the washing, rinsing and drainage water. The top part preferably of the housing contains a drying chamber (8) for drip-free drying the wet, cleaned slats in the basket. Preferred Features: The upper part of the drying chamber contains ventilators whose air current cooperates with a heating cartridge. Beneath the basket is a condensate-collector.
