The method involves transmitting data required to steer the vehicle from a remote controller to a receiver (3) in the toy vehicle (1) and using the data as control signals for control elements or motors in the vehicle. Video images are acquired by two video cameras (4,5) mounted adjacent to each other on the vehicle and directed forwards. Image data are transferred to a projection arrangement that produces a three-dimensional image from the vehicle's viewpoint for use in controlling the vehicle.
