The invention concerns a method for regenerating organic acids having a molar mass not less than 220g. mol<-1> from an aqueous solution of their salts which consists in: a) forming a dialysis unit comprising an elementary cell arranged in three contiguous sections, a median section (5) delimited by an anion-exchanging dialysis membrane with high permeability (8) and a cation exchanging membrane (9) and two lateral sections (A, B) bounded each by a bipolar membrane (7), which is subjected to a continuous potential difference generated by an anode (1) and a cathode (2) located at the ends so as to produce an electric field; b) causing the aqueous organic acid salt solution to be regenerated to circulate in the median section (5) of each cell; c) collecting in the lateral section (A) on the anode side a regenerated organic acid solution and in the lateral section (B) on the cathode side a basic solution corresponding to the cation of the regenerated organic acid salt. |
