In the present invention there is disclosed a pharmaceutical preparation containing combination of a penem derivative of the general formula I, in which the individual symbols have specific meaning, a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a beta-lactam antibiotic being selected from a group comprising cefotaxime, amoxicillin, piperacillin and ceftazidime as well as pharmaceutically acceptable derivatives thereof. The invented pharmaceutical preparation is intended for treating bacterial infections by inhibiting hydrolysis of the beta-lactam antibiotics by the action of beta-lactamase produced by bacteria that caused the infection.
