The invented child-proof gas lighter consists of a lighter body (8) being provided with a burner valve (2), the valve axis (2ˆ) and a control lever (3) being joined on a fixed pin (4) that is perpendicular to the burner valve (2) axis (2ˆ). One end part of the control lever (3) having the form of a fork or a crown (3a) is inserted beneath a flange (2a) of the burner valve (2) and the other end part thereof forms a trigger (3b) arranged counter a compression return spring (11) being arranged between the lighter body (8) and the control lever (3). The lighter is provided on bottom side of the control lever (3) trigger (3b) with a push button (13) that is in the lighter body (8) upper section (8b) movable in the direction toward the valve (2) between an active interlocking and retracted positions.
