Transfer tray for dough portions that can be operated manually or mechanically. The transfer tray consists principally of a frame with two handles at opposite edges and a conveyor belt , carried on freewheeling pulleys at either end, running between them. A block is fixed to the belt. In the manual mode the handles point upwards. The dough portions sit on the belt, with the block at the extreme right. When the tray is placed over the receiving table a tang, fixed to the table, engages the block. As the tray is pulled out the belt moves in direction since block is fixed to it and the portions fall onto the table. In the mechanical operation the tray is turned 180 deg so that the handles point downwards. The tray is positioned in line with the table with the block at the extreme left. A rod , driven from table, pushes block, now on the lower portion of the conveyor band, to the right so that the band moves the portions to the left and transfers them to table.
