Production of a colored photomask for exposure of photographic emulsion layers for color filters of liquid crystal displays comprises applying and structurizing consecutive dichroitic layers with appropriate color filter properties to produce adjacent different color filter areas. An Independent claim is also included for photomasks with adjacent different color filter areas for exposing photographic emulsion layers for color filters for liquid crystal displays, in which the filter areas consist of dichroitic layers.
