PURPOSE:To bring an enzyme electrode and a long film to a close contact state by providing the enzyme electrode at the predetermined position of an apparatus main body in a liftable manner and providing the film pressing pieces opposed to the peripheral edge part of the enzyme electrode so as to hold the long film therebetween at the time of measurement. CONSTITUTION:A solution to be examined is spotted through a spotting opening 20 in such a state that the transmission hole 15 of the solution to be examined covered with an unused diffusion restricting film 16 is exactly opposed to the opening 20. Subsequently, a long film l is allowed to run until the transmission hole 15 is exactly opposed to a measuring position 21a. An enzyme electrode 22 is raised in this state by an electrode driving mechanism 3 to be brought into close contact with the diffusion restricting film 16 covering the transmission hole 15. In this case, the force in the direction raised by the electrode 22 is applied to the film 1 but, since the parts near to the end edges of the film 1 in the lateral direction thereof are prescribed by a pair of inward protruding pieces 19b, the good close contact state of the electrode 22 and the diffusion restricting film 16 can be obtained even when special tension is not applied to the film 1. The substance to be measured contained in the solution to be examined is diffused to the electrode 22. |
