In the present invention there is disclosed a servomotor for moving a rod (1) along axis (2) with a hydraulic activator (3, 14) and a cylinder (3) in which there is slidably and tight mounted a piston (14) coupled with the rod (1) as well as with a compression spring (17) being coupled with the rod (1) and acting against the activator. The invented servomotor has a starter (4) with an inlet region (5) in which hydraulic substance is supplied, a pressure region (7) being connected through the mediation of a diaphragm (8) with the inlet region (5) and which is further connected with the activator, further with a discharge region (9) from which the hydraulic substance is removed, as well as with a control element (10) interconnecting the pressure region (7) and the discharge region (9) when positive pressure gradient from the pressure region (7) to the discharge region (9) occurs and closing thus the discharge region (9). The rod (1) is extensible from the cylinder by the action of the compression spring and when hydraulic substance is supplied in the inlet region (5) is can be retracted in the cylinder (3). This servomotor is particularly suitable for driving quick-acting valves (23) that are commonly used in steam power plants.
