PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming method, which is excellent in a gradation reproducibility including variable performances and a color distinctness and can form an image having a high recording density, and a transfer sheet. SOLUTION: The surface coated with a colored ink layer of a transfer sheet, which is formed by laminating a thermally fusing or softening peel layer and the colored ink layer not softened with the heat at its heat transfer in the order named on one side of a base material, and an image receiving body, the surface layer of which can fuse with the heat at its heat transfer are overlaid so as to be heated from the transfer sheet side, when the transferring of a primary color is intended, by developing adhesion through the fusing or softening of the image receiving body side in order to transfer the colored ink layer, while, when the transferring of a secondary color on and after is intended, by developing adhesion through the fusing of the image receiving body side in order to transfer the colored ink layer of the single colored part of the secondary color on and after and, in addition, at the overlapped region of the primary color and secondary color on and after, by developing adhesion through the fusing of the peel layer component on the surface of the printed picture formed by the primary color and the secondary color on and after, the colored ink layer of the secondary color on and after is transferred, resulting in producing a color image. |
