A carton has a lid hinged to the top wall 6, the side walls of the lid being formed from triangular portions 24 of the two larger sides 1, 2 of the carton. A tab 33 projects from the front of the lid and engages inside a wall 3 of the carton when the lid is closed. The carton is formed from a blank, Fig. 2, having adhesive portions 29-32 and 37. The tab 33 is folded over and secured by the adhesive portion 29 and projects beyond a line 21 so that when the lid is opened by tearing along a line of incisions 21, 22 the tab will project from the edge of the lid. A semi-circular cut in the tab 33 forms a part 27 which is not folded over with the tab and this part forms one member of the top of the lid 34 upon subsequent folding of the blank. |
