PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of recovering ε-caprolactam efficiently while preventing the oligomerization and thermal decomposition of the ε- caprolactam, and recovering the ε-caprolactam from a residue discharged from a polymerization vessel containing the oligomers of the ε-caprolactam, and to provide a facility for the recovery. SOLUTION: This method for recovering ε-caprolactam comprises recovering the ε-caprolactam from an ε-caprolactam oligomer-containing residue discharged from a polymerization vessel in a process for polymerizing monomers containing at least the ε-caprolactam to produce a polyamide. Therein, the residue is brought into contact with a high temperature high pressure water at temperature of 280-450 deg.C water a pressure of 100-500 kg/cm2 to depolymerize the ε- carpolactam oligomer to recover the ε-caprolactam. The facility is provided with a reactor 1 and with a post-treatment means 2 for post-treating the product discharged from the reaction vessel 1 to recover the ε-caprolactam. |
