YARN OF MELT BLEND SPINNING AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a base for artificial leather having excellent physical properties such as tear tenacity, etc., and soft touch by providing a nonwoven fabric made of melt blend spinning yarn of polyamide/polyethylene with an elastic polymer and eluting the polyethylene. SOLUTION: This-yarn of melt blend spinning comprises two kinds of polyamides Aa and Ab different in melt flow rate(MFR) and a polyethylene B. The MFRs of the polyamides Aa and Ab are both in a range of 5-80 and satisfy a relation of the equation 3<=|MFR.Aa-MFR.Ab|<=15 and the blending ratio of both the polyamides Aa and Ab is 1/9 to 9/1. The mixture of the polyamides is subjected to melt spinning and drawn to give a yarn of melt blend spinning. A nonwoven fabric made of the yarn is provided with an elastic polymer such as a polyurethane-based elastic polymer and the polyethylene is dissolved and removed with a solvent such as toluene which is a nonsolvent to a polyamide and a solvent to a polyethylene to give an artificial leather base composed of an ultrafine polyamide yarn having 0.005-0.1 d fineness.
