PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an under-ridge structure for a building, which is obtained by making good use of a small attic space as an under-ridge chamber for a human being to live therein, and can have a user-friendly housing space for the house formed therein. SOLUTION: In this under-ridge structure for a building, an under-ridge chamber 7 having a raised floor 5 higher than a basic floor 3 of a space 2 on a top floor and utilizing a small attic space 6 is formed immediately under a ridge portion of a roof, and a housing space 11 is formed under the raised floor 5. Further, an entrance 15 for taking articles to be housed in and out of the housing space 11 is formed between the top floor space 2 and the housing space 11.
