PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-propelling mower, designed to protect its cutter from an obstacle on the ground, and get over an obstacle to go forward. SOLUTION: This self-propelling mower is equipped with an impact-relaxing means 20, pivotally supported by a pin 5 to move in the vertical direction and attached to the front of a vehicle 2 having a pair of crawler 3. An attachment 10 having a cutter 13 below is fixed on the front end of the impact-relaxing means 20, and guard 30 is provided below the outer diameter D1 of the cutter 13, wherein the guard 30 is provided with at least 3 guides 31 of sled-like rod, arranged in parallel to each other in the forward direction, to allow the mower to get over an obstacle. The impact-relaxing means 20 is connected to the vehicle 2 by a lift cylinder 6, in such a way that the attachment 10 can move in the vertical direction.
