PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the falling or scattering in breakage in conformation to the vertical and horizontal shaking or interlayer displacement of an earthquake by nipping the vertical edge of a glass plate by a support metal fitting having a vertically and laterally movable sliding member, and rotatably connecting it to a structural skeleton. SOLUTION: The vertical edges of a plurality of glass plates G stood by supporting the upper and lower edges by a frame are fastened and nipped by a pair of outside halved members 2 alternating having projection parts 2b passing through the joint part and a pair of inside halved members 5 having projection parts 5b. The projection parts 2b, 5b are engaged with a vertical pair of connecting members 6 and fixed by a pin 30 in such a manner as to be vertically rockable. The connecting members 6 are fastened and fixed to both ends of a sliding member 8 provided in the rear by a pair of strap hanger bolts 7. The sliding member 8 is arranged within the opening of the substantially U-shaped part 9a of a connecting metal fitting 9, and a shaft member 18 is fixed by small screws 38, 39 in such a manner as to be horizontally movable within an elliptic hole 8a. A support bolt 19 is inserted to a through-hole 9c on the bottom of the substantially U-shaped part 9a, and screwed to a fixing metal fitting 10a on a structural skeleton 10 side to rotatably fix the support metal fitting 1.
