PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning composition used in cleaning for removing a liquid crystal material as contamination, which has non-flammability and low toxicity and does not exert great influences on global warming. SOLUTION: A cleaning composition comprises as essential components (a) a perfluorobuty methyl ether and/or a perfluorobuty ethyl ether, (b) n- heptane, and (c) a diethylene glycol ether represented by R1-O-(CH2CH2O)2-R2 [wherein R1 is a 1-4C alkyl or acetyl group which may have branching; and R2 is hydrogen or a 1-4C alkyl group which may have branching], wherein a weight ratio of (a) to (b) [(a)/(b)] is 80/20-97/3 and a weight ratio of (a)+(b) to (c) [(a)+(b)/(c)] is 30/70-70/30.
