PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect guide rails from stain by putting a cover means in a state of being accompanied by and joined to two guide carriages, and rigidly constituting at least a part of the longitudinal directional extent between both end parts in the shaft direction. SOLUTION: Respectively two guide carriages 12 are guided by two guide rails 10 extending in parallel. An object table 18 is fixed on the guide carriages 12. An interval between the guide carriages 12 respectively traveling on a single guide rail 10 is marked with a sign A, and in an area of the interval A, the guide rails 10 are covered with a cover means collectively marked with a sign 20. A U-shaped cover means connecting element 26 is fixed to an end part surface 22. This cover means connecting element 26 is composed of a fixing flange 28 and a profile socket part 30. The fixing flange 28 is fixed to the end part surface 22 by a fixing screw 32.
