PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate wiring work inside a guide rail in assembling a shutter device. SOLUTION: This shutter device has a shutter curtain 12 opened and closed by the drive of a motor 20, a longitudinal end of the shutter curtain 12 being guided along a guide rail 22; when the end slat 15 of the shutter curtain 12 being lowered toward a full closed position interferes with an obstacle or when it is seated on a sill, the fall of the shutter curtain 12 is stopped. In such a shutter device, a link mechanism 70 is provided which is interlocked with the end of the end slat 15, and when the fall of the shutter curtain 12 is stopped the lever 72 of the link mechanism 70 is displaced to energize a sensing plate 40 extending vertically within the guide rail 22, thus actuating a switch 60 for stopping the drive of the motor 20.
