PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a cam shaft in which the machining can be dispensed with, the cost can be reduced, and the productivity can be improved, and the cam shaft can be manufactured using an optimum material which is low in cost and high in durability. SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a cam shaft comprises a shaft part compacting process in which a shaft part 20 of the cam shaft is compacted, a cam lobe compacting process in which cam lobe parts 11, 15 of the cam shaft are compacted, an assembly process in which at least one of the compacted cam lobe parts 11, 15 is assembled at the specified position of the compacted shaft part 20, and a sintering process in which the assembled shaft part 20 and the cam lobe parts 11, 15 are sintered in an integrated manner.
