PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a concentrated detergent composition which does not form a gel film on the liquid surface even when left standing in an open container by incorporating an end-blocked nonionic surfactant with a hydrophilic organic compound having a plurality of OH groups and oxygen. SOLUTION: The end-blocked nonionic surfactant used is at least either of compounds represented by formulae I and II. In the formulae, R1 and R3 are each a 6-22C hydrocarbon group; R2 and R4 are each a 1-20C alkyl or an alkenyl; AO is a 3-8C oxyalkylene; EO is oxyethylene, 0<m; s<=15; 0, n, t<=40; m+n and s+t are each 2-50; AD and ED units in formula II form a random addition product; and the distribution of the number of moles of BO added in formula I and the distribution of the number of moles of AO and EO added in formula II should satisfy the narrowness relationships of formulae III and IV, respectively. In the formulae, i is a positive integer; Yi is the amount (wt.%) of an EO adduct with an addition mole number of i; nmax is the number of moles of an EO adduct contained in the largest amount; j is the retention time (min); Yj is the amount (wt.%) of the component with a retention time of j; and vmax is the retention time (min) when the component contained in the largest amount is detected.
