PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a film-forming pack cosmetic excellent in storage stability with time even in the presence of a water-soluble L-ascorbic acid derivative and having skin whitening effect and good feeling when applied. SOLUTION: This pack cosmetic is characterized by comprising (a) 5-20 wt.% of polyvinyl alcohol, (b) 0.5-5 wt.% of a water-soluble L-ascorbic acid derivative, (c) 0.1-3 wt.% of an organic acid salt, (d) 0.1-10 wt.% of a water- swellable clay mineral, and (e) 20-94 wt.% of purified water.
