PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make friction in the die low, to reduce corrosion and wear therein and to prolong its service life by composing it of a cermet material having a compsn. contg. Ni metal and/or Co metal, the carbides of the group 5a and 6a metals, and the balance carbides and/or nitrides of Ti, in which the C/(C+N) in the carbides and/or nitrides of Ti is controlled to a specified range. SOLUTION: This drawing die is formed of a cermet material having the following compsn. of, by weight, 10.0 to 18.0% Ni metal and/or Co metal, the carbides of the group 5a and 6a metals by 20.0 to 30.0% in total, and the balance Ti carbides and/or nitrides. Then, the C/(C+N) in the Ti carbides and/or nitrides is controlled to 0.7 to 1.0. In the case, as a composite material, the carbides of the 5a and 6a metals are used, and, moreover, a structure in which the ratio of the carbonitride of Ti as the main component is controlled to the one enriched in carbon, thus, intergranular substitution reaction particularly to stainless steel can be prevented, and, furthermore, it can have high slidability.
