PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition which exhibits excellent adhesive power, holding power, and tackiness to a nonpolar adherend by incorporating a copolymer emulsion prepared by copolymerizing specific alkyl (meth)acrylates and anα,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid in the presence of a plasticizer into the same. SOLUTION: This composition contains a copolymer emulsion which is prepared by copolymerizing (A) an alkyl (meth)acrylate having a 9-18C alkyl group, (B) an alkyl (meth)acrylate having a 1-8C alkyl group, and (C) anα,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid in the presence of (D) a plasticizer. Based on the sum of ingredients A to D, the amount of ingredient A is preferably 50-80 wt.%; that of ingredient B, preferably 10-40 wt.%; that of ingredient C, preferably 0.5-3 wt.%; and that of ingredient D, preferably 3-20 wt.%. The plasticizer is preferably an aromatic polybasic acid ester.
