摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle braking method and device capable of damping vibrations sufficiently in any region of cutting feed and making a feed rotation stably. SOLUTION: The present invention comprises a rotor 117 installed fast on a spindle 107, a braking member 116a to be in pressure contact with the rotor 117 to generate braking, driving means 116 and 7 driving the member 116a to make pressure contact with and separation from the rotor 117, and a controlling means 2 to control the operation of the driving means 116 and 7. The control means 2 is composed at least of a speed acknowledging means 3 for acknowledging the machining feed speed of the spindle 107 and a control signal adjusting means 5 to supply the means 116 and 7 with control signals varied in accordance with the feeding speed of the spindle 107 acknowledged by the means 3. The contact pressure of the braking member 116a driven by the means 116 and 7 and put in pressure contact with the rotor 117 is varied in accordance with the feeding speed of the spindle 107 in cutting feed.
