PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-forming apparatus which provides high-quality images by reducing toner scattering at the time of an error diffusion process in a simple circuit constitution. SOLUTION: When an image quality mode is set to a high quality and if a halftone process is an error diffusion process, a selecting circuit 320 selects either a waveform control circuit 309 or a waveform control circuit 310 in accordance with a control signal 302, selects a pulse current waveform to be supplied to a semiconductor laser element 31, changes a density of latent images to be formed on a photosensitive drum and provides high-quality images with toner scattering reduced. When a humidity is high, the selecting circuit 320 selects the desired waveform control circuit according to a judgment by a humidity-judging circuit 331 based on a signal from a humidity sensor 332, and supplies the pulse current waveform lessening the toner scattering to the semiconductor laser element, thereby providing high-quality images.
