PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boxing device which can box even an articles with recesses and projections. SOLUTION: A boxing device 11 is for boxing a plurality of articles planar in shape and is provided with a arranging device 3 for arranging in parallel articles so as to overlap the side faces of articles, a first gripping means 4 for receiving arranged articles from the device 3 and reducing the overlapping width of the side faces of articles while maintaining the parallelism of articles with each other, and a storing means 6 for storing the articles of reduced width in a box 7. Also a second gripping means 5 for receiving the articles from the first gripping means 4, reversing the surfaces and backs of the articles, as required, and delivering them to the storing means 6, and a supporting means 9 for supporting the articles stored in the box 7 and in the state of being placed aside to one side face side in the box 7 may be provided.
