PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lipase inhibitor capable of exhibiting sufficient effects as an antiobestic medicine, an acne-treating agent and a food deterioration retarder by adding a known compound produced by a specific microorganism as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This lipase inhibitor contains sclerotiorin of the formula as an active ingredient. The sclerotiorin can be obtained, for example, by culturing a sclerotiorin-producing fungus (preferably Penicillium sclerotiorum EF-1646) belonging to the genus Penicillium in a culture medium preferably containing ethanol as a carbon source and then collecting the culture product. The obtained sclerotiorin has excellent actions for inhibiting pancreatic lipase, acne bacillus lipase, plant-originated lipase and microorganism-originated lipase, can exhibit high safety, and is useful as an antiobestic medicine, an acne-treating agent and a food deterioration retarder. |
