PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer, which can make banding inconspicuous without lowering a printing speed. SOLUTION: In response to the reciprocating motion of a carriage, heads reciprocate normal to the conveying direction of a recording paper. The injection discharging amount of ink from the head per one time of the forward or backward scanning is calculated on the basis of an image information. In addition, the heads are provided for respective colors of color inks. Further, when the total injection discharging amount of inks of the respective colors of the color ink is larger than a predetermined value (YES state of S104 and S108), the injection discharging of ink in the scanning next to the scanning, in which the above calculation is inhibited or an one-way printing, in which a printing is executed only in either forward motion or backward motion of the reciprocating motion of the head. Furthermore, when the above total amount is smaller than the predetermined value (NO state of S104 and S108), the injection discharging of ink in the scanning next to the scanning, in which the above calculation is permitted or a both-way printing, in which the printing is executed both in forward motion and the backward motion of the reciprocating motion of the head. |
