PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject mower, which can easily, quickly and securely adjust force for reducing weight without needing a rotating metal mesh or the like by providing a pebble-carrying conveyor at a specific position on a self-propelling vehicle. SOLUTION: This mower is provided with (a) a chassis 2, (b) a means for connecting the chassis 2 to a driving vehicle, (c) at least one harvesting mechanism having a cutting member, (d) a suspension device, (e) a weight-reducing device 23 having 2 members 24 and 25, which can be deformed elastically and extend laterally to the direction of mower travel, and being combined with the harvesting mechanism, and (f) a central control unit 75 for adjusting the force for reducing the weight on the harvesting mechanism, wherein the central control unit 75 has a rotation-instructing member 76 connected to the chassis 2, and also to the members 24 and 25 at the second ends via a means for converting rotational force of the member 76 into the force for tensioning or relaxing the members 24 and 25, depending on rotational direction of the member 76.
