PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject hair cosmetic that shows excellent strengthening and repairing action on damaged and hardened hairs with changed hair protein structure by treatment with chemicals or the like and gives the hairs flexibility and gives excellent styling action to the hair by using a solubilized silk peptide and sugar alcohol or the like in the hair cosmetic. SOLUTION: The objective hair cosmetic comprises (A) a solubilized silk peptide that remains after removal of fibroin from the silk fibers and is mainly composed of sericin with a molecular weight of 4,000-60,000 (for example, hydrolyzed silk or the like), (B) a sugar alcohol or the like, and (C) a neutral amino acid, for example, glycine. In a preferred embodiment, the content of the component A is 0.5-5 wt.%; the component B, 0.5-10 wt.%; and the component C, 0.05-10 wt.%. This cosmetic can be widely applied in a variety of production form, for example, solutions, foams, sprays or the like.
