PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly improve the convenience of users to identify or remove recording sheets when several users use one sorter by stacking the recording sheets in one output unit, if possible, in one pin tray and stacking the recording sheets in the newest output unit on the uppermost pin tray all times, in the order of the newest output unit from the uppermost pin tray. SOLUTION: A sorter 500 wherein a plurality of pin trays 37 are arranged almost perpendicular thereto for sorting and stacking recording sheets P includes a moving means for opening/closing movement of at least one of the pin trays 37 separated into at least two and a control for controlling the opening/closing movement of the pin tray 37 with the moving means, so that the opining/closing movement of the pin tray 37 may cause dropping movement of the recording sheets stacked on the pin tray 37 onto the lower pin tray 37.
