DISCARDING METHOD OF TETRYL COMPACTED BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and easily discard a tetryl compacted body by immersing a tetryl compacted body in a solvent to disintegrate or weaken the tetryl compacted body, then taking out the disintegrated or weakened tetryl and incinerating. SOLUTION: The tetryl compacted body produced when explosives or mines are disassembled is immersed in a solvent such as acetone so that the tetryl compacted body is easily disintegrated. The required conditions for the treatment such as immersing time and immersing temp. are properly selected depending on the kinds of solvents. Then the disintegrated or weakened tetryl is taken out and incinerated. By immersing the tetryl compacted body in a solvent, the solvent that dissolves the tetryl impregnates the vacancies of the tetryl compacted body and partially dissolves the tetryl. This significantly decreases the strength of the tetryl compacted body and renders the body to be extremely easily disintegrated.
