PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the life of a thermal head and prevent deterioration in printing quality by changing a printing processing method between when a heat energy amount for coloring a coloring layer is minimum and when the amount is higher, and carrying out a predetermined process except one printing process exactly conforming to data. SOLUTION: A CPU 1 drives a paper feed motor 7 in a forward direction to transfer a heat-sensitive paper towards a thermal line head 9 to a predetermined printing position. All printing dot data is printed on one heat-sensitive part with a low heat energy amount. The heat-sensitive paper is then transferred in a return direction, and transferred again in the forward direction to a printing start position by the motor 7. Only printing dot data to be output in a color requiring a high heat energy amount is printed overlapping with an amount equal to the low heat energy. In this case, only the printing dot data to be output in the color requiring the high heat energy amount among the initial printing dot data is printed with use of printing dot data from which an outline part is removed by one dot. |
