PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat lock device that can lock a seat in a normal position and prevent any looseness or movement of the seat being locked. SOLUTION: Either a seat (automobile seat) or a floor (automobile body floor) is equipped with a guide plate 12 having guide notches 11a and 11b, and the other is provided with guide rods 13a and 13b. When a lock member 7 is engaged with a striker 8 or thrown into a locking position, the guide rod 13a or 13b is retained in the guide notches 11a and 11b of the guide plate 12.
