METALLIC SOAP FOR THERMOPLASTIC RESIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject metallic soap exhibiting an excellent effect as a processing modifier, by using a metal salt of erucic acid being a higher unsaturated fatty acid or the metal salt and a metal salt of another higher aliphatic monocarboxylic acid. SOLUTION: This metallic soap comprises (A) one or more metal salts of erucic acid and is added to a thermoplastic resin. Preferably the metallic soap comprises a mixture of one or more of the component A and (B) one or more of metal salts of a 12-30C aliphatic monocarboxylic acid. Preferably the metal salts of the component A and the component B are metal salts selected from a metal of the group Ia to the group III of the periodic table, especially alkali metal salts of a metal of the group Ia of the periodic table. The component A is preferably lithium erucate. The amount of the metallic soap to be added to a thermoplastic resin is 0.01-5.0 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin. Consequently a resin molding material having excellent processability, etc., is provided.
