PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lever brake type spinning reel equipped with a brake device having an excellent braking ability. SOLUTION: This spinning reel is capable of pushing and moving two sites located on both sides sandwiching an axial line of a cylindrical part 601 on the surface of a braking force applying unit 4 and on the center line in the radial direction by pushing and moving parts 63 in a pushing and moving plate 6 for pushing and moving the braking force applying unit 4, thereby sliding the braking force applying unit 4 without tilting, exactly opposing the whole surface of the braking force applying unit 4 to a braking unit 3 to come into contact therewith.
