PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker capable of cooking rice suitably independently of the cooking conditions. SOLUTION: This rice cooker is provided with a heating means 2 for heating a pot 1, a temperature detecting means 3 for deecting the temperature at the bottom of the pot 1, and a control means 4 for stopping the heating of the heating means 2 on the basis of the detected temperature of the temperature detecting means 3 exceeding a heating stopping set temperature. In this case, it is contrived that the control means 4 counts the elapsed time from the point the heating action of the heating means 2 is started, and also until the measuring time is elapsed for a determined time for maintaining the heating, the heating action of the heating means 2 is continued even if the detecting temperature of the temperature detecting means 3 exceeds, the heating stopping set temperature, and after the measuring time is elapsed the heating maintaining set time, the heating action of the heating means 2 is stopped when the detecting temperature exceeds the heating stopping set temperature.
