PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heat recovery efficiency of a grinding liquid even though a grinding surface is abraded by using a rotary grinding wheel for a long period, and improve the productivity by raising the speed during grinding work. SOLUTION: To the abrasive grain layer 40 of a rotary grinding wheel 31 driven to rotate around the axis 37, a pair of truncated conical grinding surfaces 42a and 42b opposing each other in the upstream in the axial 37 direction as to an imaginary one surface are provided, a grinding groove 43 is provided between the grinding surfaces 42a and 42b, a circular recessed groove 44 communicating from the inner side in the radial direction along the full periphery in the peripheral direction is provided in the grinding groove 43, a grinding liquid spouted from the downstream in the rotating direction B to working areas 48a and 48b is made possible to pass smoothly to the downstream in the rotating direction B so as to improve the heat recovering efficiency, the heat in the working areas 48a and 48b of a rotary grinding wheel 31, and the grinding area of a work W, generated by the grinding, is removed, and the rotating speed of the rotary grinding wheel 31 is improved without generating a defective grinding.
