PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure smooth drawing out of a fishing line or a smooth line winding operation without any trouble in a real fishing, to increase the protection of an indication case from an outside force and to increase the freedom of a design of the reel body by increasing the gripping property and the visibility of the reel body in a fishing reel having a line length determination and indication device. SOLUTION: This fishing reel rotatably supports a spool 5 between side boards 2 and 3 of a reel body and has a determination and indication device indicating the determined information and covered with an indication case 7 at an upper part of the reel body. In the fishing reel, the indication case 7 is connected to upper faces of the side boards 2 and 3 in a continuous same plane without any step.
