PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for egg packaging, which permits no lengthwise pressing force to be applied to both upper and lower ends of eggs and no egg to be broken even in the case where many eggs are stacked in a multi-staged manner. SOLUTION: A separator for egg packaging is formed of a thin-walled synthetic resin sheet by vacuum forming or blow molding. The separator has recessed portions 2 protruding downward for storing eggs and protruding portions 3 protruding upward, which serve as spacers for partitioning the mutual recessed portions 2, these recessed portions 2 and protruding portions 3 being arranged at equal intervals by deviating them by a half pitch in both lengthwise and breadthwise directions, and is divided into squar sections at the center positions of the recessed portions 2 with respect to the lengthwise direction and at the center positions of the protruding portions 3 with respect to the breadthwise direction. Further, holes 21 may be bored in the bottoms of some recessed portions 2 and protrusions 31 may be formed at the top ends of some protruding portions 3, at positions where the protruding portions 3 on the underside coincide with the recessed portions 2 on the upper side when the separators for egg packaging are superposed on one another while turning them alternately by 90 degrees. |
